We don’t want blessings; we want You!

What is your relationship with God about? Is it about how much recognition and fame you can get? Is it about how many blessings you can receive? 

We often become consumed with the things of this world, when we should be consumed with the things of God. Often, we make everything about us, yet there would be no us without Him. 

Have you given your life to Jesus? If you have, “you are not your own; you were bought at a price.” God has a work to do in and through your life. He has plans to fix the broken pieces and direct your path. He has a purpose for you to go out into the nations and tell the world about Him. He intends for you to spread the love of Christ where you are planted. 

The truth is… God is great and His plans are full. There is a grand masterpiece in the making and you are one of the important details, but if we keep making it about us, us, us… How will the world come to know HIM, HIM, HIM!

Jeremiah 29:13 says: “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” When you are seeking Him with all your heart, your motives need to be in the right place. If you are seeking Him for your own gain, you will not find him. Seek him because of how wonderful He is. Seek Him because He’s marvelous. Seek Him because He’s the Creator. Seek Him because He sent his only son to die so that you might have life. Seek Him because you need Him. 

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

    Lord, help us your children to focus ALL of our attention on You. Right where it should be.
